Role-Playing Games Week Recap 7/12/2021
This week in the weekly recap we will see some records fall and some big announcements made.
Legend of Zelda breaks records
A sealed NES version of Legend of Zelda broke a record for selling at auction for the highest amount ever for a video game. The sealed copy sold for $870,000. The sealed copy was rated at a 9.0 out of 10 which is one of the highest grades ever seen.
Woman of color breaks two video game records
An African American woman from Texas has broken two Guinness books of world records for her extensive video game collection. She has a collection of 1,599 LCD gaming systems and 2,430 playable gaming systems. Regardless of her ethnicity or gender, this is quite a feat. I’m not sure where she stores all that but wow.
Nintendo announces new Switch console
To me, this wasn’t big news. It’s nice that they are upgrading the switch. But this new version won’t have any more power and I think it is getting close to the time for Nintendo to roll out a Switch 2.0 that has more power and can compete and play some more of today’s top games.
Ubisoft confirms Assassin’s Creed Infinity
Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Infinity is in the works. This seems like the right move as they release a new game every year. Why not just roll this into an online service and they can introduce yearly updates sort of like was Elder Scrolls Online did.
