How to Reach the Age of Scientific Research in Craftopia

Advancing your age in Craftopia is the best way to unlock new technology. Moving from the Innovative Age of Fire to the Age of Scientific Research takes some work though. You are going to have to travel to the coldest parts of the map to find some specific items. I am going to walk you through exactly where to go and what to bring.

Make sure you have a good axe and plenty of inventory space before heading out. Once you have everything gathered up, you can head to your Wedge Tower to upgrade.

Items Needed for the Age of Scientific Research

Before you start your journey let me tell you what you are looking for. You need four main items and a good chunk of money. Most of the materials are found in the frozen regions of the map so be ready for some cold weather exploring.

I would suggest gathering these items in bulk while you are out there. Some of them are useful for more than just upgrading your age. For example some of the plants help you make potions later on which will come in handy.

Here is what you need to collect:

Item NameLocationAmountVisual Description
Frozen WoodIceberg Sherbet25Blue or white frozen trees
AquamarineIceberg Sherbet Hills25Purple colored ore
Snow MintThroughout Snowy Areas10Small white plants
Ancient Doll FragmentsNear Warp Portals10Broken robot parts
GoldAnywhere200,000 Gold

Travel to the Iceberg Sherbet Area

You are going to spend most of your time in the Iceberg Sherbet area. This region is very close to Brigadine Valley. It is cold so make sure you are ready for the weather.

If you have a helicopter use it. Seriously a helicopter makes moving between the hills and valleys so much faster. The terrain here is steep with trees at the bottom and ore at the top. Having a vehicle saves you a ton of stamina and it helps you spot items from the air. Trust me you will appreciate it.

Collecting Frozen Wood

The first item you need is Frozen Wood. You can find this in the lower parts of the Iceberg Sherbet area. Look for trees that look like they are covered in ice. They have a distinct frozen look compared to normal trees so they are pretty easy to pick out.

Just walk up to them with your axe and chop them down. They will drop the Frozen Wood you need. This wood is one of the main ingredients for the age evolution so gather enough to satisfy the requirements at the Wedge Tower.

Finding Aquamarine of Iceberg

Once you have your wood look up. Aquamarine is usually found on the hills above the frozen trees. If you have a helicopter just fly straight up the slope. You are looking for rocks with a purple color. Those are the Aquamarine deposits.

Use your pickaxe to mine these stones. They stand out pretty well against the white snow so they are not hard to spot. I would recommend clearing out the whole vein while you are there so you don’t have to make a return trip.

Searching for Snow Mint

Snow Mint is a plant that grows all over the Iceberg Sherbet region. It is scattered throughout the snow so you don’t have to look in one specific spot for this. You will probably find plenty of it while walking between the trees and the ore.

Here is my advice though. Stock up on Snow Mint. You need it for the age evolution but it is also used for potions. Potions are a lifesaver when you are trying to work through the Iceberg Serbert area. Just pick up every white plant you see while you explore. It is better to have too much than not enough.

Locating Ancient Doll Fragments

The Ancient Doll Fragments are interesting. They don’t actually look like dolls at all. Instead they look like broken robots. You can find these lying on the ground in the snowy region.

The best place to look for them is near the Warp Portals. Check the ground around the portals and you should see the metallic pieces. These fragments are the last resource you need for your evolution so pick up as many as the tower requires.

How to Earn 200,000 Gold

Now the most difficult part for some players is the money. You need 200,000 gold to pay for the Age of Scientific Research. That is a lot of coins. But you have a few ways to get this money without it taking forever.

Sell Your Extra Equipment

As you play you are going to fight a lot of enemies. Those enemies drop weapons and armor. If you have a pile of swords or shields you are not using just sell them. Old gear you are never going to use again is a great source of fast gold.

Build and Harvest Crops

Farming is a steady way to make money. You can build crops and grow food then sell it at the market once it is ready. Some crops sell for more than others so try different types and see what pays the best. I typically build huge grape farms and then have aging facilities to make wine. Another idea is to make cheese from milk.

Craft and Sell Items

You can also use your crafting benches to make items. Some crafted items sell for way more than the raw materials are worth. If you have extra wood or stone turn them into furniture or tools before selling. You will get a lot more gold that way.

Using the Wedge Tower to Evolve

When you have all four items and the 200,000 gold head back to your Wedge Tower. This is the structure where you manage your age progress. Open the menu at the tower and look for the Age of Scientific Research.

If you have everything in your inventory the Progress button will be available. Click it to advance your age. The game will take your materials and your gold but in return you get access to new buildings, better items, and advanced technology. It is worth every coin.

Wrapping Up

Getting to the Age of Scientific Research is a big step in Craftopia. It gets you past the basic tools of the Age of Fire and opens up a whole new set of possibilities.

By visiting the Iceberg Sherbet area you can find everything you need. Remember to look for the purple Aquamarine on the hills and the broken robots near the portals. Bring a helicopter if you have one to save time and keep your axe sharp for the frozen wood.

And if you stock up on extra Snow Mint while you are out there you will thank yourself later when you need those potions.
