Palworld – How to craft refined ingots

Crafting refined ingots in Palworld is essential if you want to make it deep into the game. Refined ingots are required to make advanced versions of the pick axe, spear, grappling gun, and other equipment needed to help you catch those level 50 pals. But making refined ingots isn’t as obvious in Palworld as most survival games.

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to craft refined ingots in Palworld.

Step 1: Crafting an Improved Furnace

First things first, to craft refined ingots, we need a special facility called an Improved Furnace. Once you’ve reached level 20 in the Technology tab, you can unlock it. Here are the required materials to craft an Improved Furnace:

  • 100 Stone
  • 30 Cement
  • 15 Flame Organs

Stone should be easy enough to gather but the Flame Organs sound tricky, but you can find them by defeating fire-type Pals or capturing them. Look for these three low-level fire-type pals to help gather Flame Organs early in the game:

  • Foxparks
  • Rooby
  • Arsox

Cement can be crafted on a High Quality Workbench. It requires 50 Stone, 1 Bone, and 1 Pal Fluids. You get 10 Cement for each one you build. So in total, you will need 150 Stone, 3 Bone, and 3 Pal Fluids.

Step 2: Gathering Materials

Now that your furnace is ready, it’s time to gather the materials needed to make Refined Ingots. You will need 2 Ore for every 1 refined ingot you need to make. You will also need Coal. Then you may notice that your Improved Furnace says “Required: Kindling”.

What does Required: Kindling mean?

Simply put this means that you need a fire-type Pal deployed either in your base or on your person deployed. Most of the fire-type Pals have Kindling as a skill.

Where can I find ore?

Ores are special rocks that you can find in Ore Deposits scattered around Palworld. Look out for reddish-brown rocks! With your trusty pickaxe, mine as much Ore as you can carry. Ore weighs a lot so you can only carry small amounts to start the game.

Ore can also be found by mining regular stone. But this happens at a very small rate. Seems like you can get a max of 1 or 2 Ore per stone deposit.

Some players have set up their base next to Ore deposits so their pals can mine it. But be cautious because if you build over the spot where the Ore spawns it will stop respawning.

Where can I find coal?

Coal is mainly found around the volcano region. There are a few other areas where it can be found but the volcano region is your best bet to find lots of deposits. If you have found the fishing village (Fisherman’s Point) there is a group of coal deposits not too far from the fishing village at the base of the volcano.

Once you have the ore and coal either on your person or in a nearby storage chest you can start crafting the refined ingots. The improved furnace is one facility that requires a Pal to operate. So make sure you have a fire-type Pal deployed to start crafting the refined ingots.

Step 4: Collect your Refined Ingots

Once your Pal is done kindling the fire and all of your refined ingots are created you can collect them and start building with refined metal. Make sure to advance your technology so you can unlock better gear such as the metal pick axe, metal armor, and metal spear.

The biggest thing to remember is to have a fire-type Pal to help you meet the Kindling requirement needed to craft the refined ingots. Once you have the fire-type deployed they should take care of the rest.
