Role-Playing Games Week Recap 10/5/2021
Netflix makes its move into the gaming world. Amazon seems to have a big hit on its hands.
Netflix moves into gaming
In a move to diversify and start to make a name for itself Netflix has bought up a gaming company. Night School Studio a mobile gaming company was bought by Netflix. There has been a lot of talk about Netflix offering games on its streaming service so it makes sense that they have decided to start working their way into the market even further.
Starfield dialogue will be bigger and better
Remember how in Skyrim all the NPCs sounded like the same voice actor/actress? Well, that’s because they only had a pool of about 70 voice actors. Starfield will not have that problem. During a live stream, Todd Howard said Starfield will have over 300 voice actors. I do like some of the canned responses in Skryim but it will feel nice to have some original content as you move across the stars.
New World is extremely popular
I don’t know if it is because the game is that good or if there is just still a buzz because people can’t get into the game. But Amazon seems to have a bonafide hit on their hands with New World. We shall see if it holds up after some big-name games release in the next few weeks or if they just hit the sweet spot in a lull of new gaming content.
