Elden Ring releases January 21, 2022
Elden Ring is another new IP from FROM Software the makers of the Dark Souls franchise. And it is published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. An action role playing game with a whole new fantasy world to explore. In the latest trailer there is a lot of reference to the “tarnished”. And looks like your character fights through some impressive boss battles in a broken world.
Elden Ring was just announced that the release date will be January 21st, 2022. Although that release time frame falls in a strange after Christmas time frame I am not so sure they will keep that as games with this much hype like to target a better window. It’s not likely it will get moved up before Christmas so don’t be surprised if this gets delayed a few months. But if no other big games are coming out in that time frame it could stick to the January 21st 2022 date.
I just hope this game is not as brutally hard as Dark Souls. I enjoyed the challenge of those games but sometimes I just like to play a game that doesn’t beat the hell out of me. But watching the trailer shows that there is a lot of parrying and fighting large monsters that look to be 3 to 4 times your size. So hopefully they will allow you to ratchet down the difficulty because George R. R. Martin is involved and I would imagine this game is going to have a fantastic story to go along with it.
