This week in the weekly recap, not much new news. Funny story about an open beta.
Amazon melts some graphic cards
Amazon is about to release a new MMORPG called New World. It was reported over 100,000 people have logged in to play the beta on Steam. The new game releases on August 31st.
Apparently, there was a glitch on one of the menus that did not cap the frame rate of the screen. So those graphic cards that could really run high frame rates were running unchecked and melting down. It isn’t know how many people this affected, but it was a big enough issue they had to release a patch to cap the frame rate.
But these are the things you have to be aware of when playing betas that it can have some nasty ramifications for your setup. Just make sure to monitor your system performance.
